Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jimmy Chunga has been spinning music for as long as he can remember! Starting in the underground clubs of the surprisingly large and passionate Salt Lake punk & alternative scene, Chunga cut his teeth playing vinyl records for disaffected youth at the age of 16. He realized immediately, this was something he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
Unlike so many of the kids in his underground community, Chunga figured out early that if he wanted this to be real, he needed training… lots of it. Chunga wanted to do more than just “spin” songs, he wanted to perform… He studied dramatic arts and music at Southern Utah University in the Tony Award winning theater department, learned the art of “voice over” acting while in private study with legendary voice actor June Foray (Rocky & Bullwinkle, Looney Tunes) and worked as a stand up comic.
This background in music and theater led Chunga into the world of radio where he’s performed as a top rated morning show host for over 20 years, spending most of his tenure at two nationally acclaimed alternative stations (KXRK “X-96″ & KENZ “The End”)
Jimmy Chunga has been fortunate to have grown a massive local and national fan base and always draws huge crowds resulting in sold out venues, in the United States & in Europe.
Chunga has produced, mixed & performed along side some of the biggest names in music! In 2013, he performed at the South by Southwest Music festival & his corporate clientele includes Paul Mitchell, Victoria Secret, Disneyland, Ancestory.com, Chegg, Playboy, The U.S. Olympic Committee, Salt Lake Comic Con & many, many more!
In addition to his music interests, Chunga is has an extreme passion for the paranormal & has been investigating ghosts and studying historical demonology for over 15 years with his longtime friend and partner Ben Hansen.

Chandler Smith has been known by many nicknames over the years! He was introduced into the world of showbusiness at a very young age on his dad’s morning radio show. For years he was known to his fans as “Lourdes”; a nickname given to him by Chunga due to the fact he was born in the same month as Madonna’s first child. Who was actually a girl! He’s also been known as “Bullet” (a name given to him due to his speed and accuracy as an ice hockey goalie) & DJ Spinari! Although he loved his last nickname and enjoyed great success as a touring EDM DJ while using it, he chose to switch back to his real birth name because NOBODY could pronounce “Spinari” the right way! Chandler was often introduced to massive, arena crowdsby confused MC’s as “DJ Spumoni” … which is the free ice cream you get at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
Chandler knew from an early exactly what he wanted to do for a living. He wanted to work in showbusiness. This drive pushed him to graduate from High School a year and half early (with a 4.0 GPA) so he could focus on his music and media career goals.
Don’t let his young age fool you. Chandler Smith is a Co-Founder & Co-Owner of Radio Ronin & Radio Ronin.com and is an equal partner with Jimmy Chunga. He also works with a prestigious group of film makers known as The Brute Squad. In fact, most of you have probably seen Chandlers work! He’s made TV commercials, corporate media materials, feature films and documentaries! In addition to his work with Radio Ronin and The Brute Squad, Chandler continues to perform around the country as an electronic music DJ and Producer.
Host, Resident Panda
Gregg, The Butterscotch Panda or simply Panda, brings to the show a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for music with over 20+ years of experience in the radio industry (where he met and worked with Chunga). Panda loves helping others discover new music through his podcast “Gregg’s Guide to New Music” which is on the Radio Ronin Podcast Network.
Outside of music, Panda enjoys bowling, playing the guitar, paranormal investigating and traveling to Greece.
Believe it or not, his story with Radio Ronin was all started by a cake, Star Wars and his wife’s love of a mouse!
Chris Tew, otherwise, known as “Chris the Brit” and affectionally by the team as “Our Favorite English Muffin”, was officially imported to the USA from his native England in 2017. Having previously called Salt Lake City home during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, after a 15-year hiatus, he is back stateside.
Chris has had a wealth of jobs and callings in life, including paperboy, voice actor, chef, farm hand, hotel manager, mixologist, amateur racing driver, tour guide, club promoter, country gentlemen, and a self-proclaimed super nerd and joker. This has afforded Chris many amazing opportunities to travel extensively and meet lots of amazing people and to share in their stories and experiences.
After bonding over their love of music, movies, the paranormal and all things pop culture…. and appearing Ronin TV, Bash Music and Gregg’s Guide to New Music; Chunga, Chandler, and Gregg asked Chris to join the team in 2022. They did not need to ask him twice.
Chris may be the new guy, but he’s passionate about the Radio Ronin Show and engaging with the Ronin Fam.
Director of Technology
Gary Carter is our Director of Technology — meaning — he’s in charge of the maintenance of our online hosting for both our shows and website. We also throw other technology issues his way in hopes he knows what to do.
In addition to his duties with the Radio Ronin Network, Gary was the founding host of The Supernatural Hour found on the network. Gary has been researching the paranormal for over thirty years. His interest was kindled and research started when he was a child after several experiences while attending his grade school which was built in 1901, and several experiences at his great aunt’s home where he spent much of his childhood. This research continued through his teen years and is ongoing.
Gary’s primary area of interest and research are those cases which many teams consider too dark or too dangerous to investigate. Gary and the team specialize in these cases and find satisfaction and fulfillment in helping clients dealing with those types of situations. Gary has been invited on and interviewed on radio programs, and has been featured in magazine articles including City Weekly, and Paranormal Veracity Magazine.
Gary officially founded WISPS in 2013. Gary currently devotes his time to photography. Gary’s work can be found at Castle Photo Art.
